Next workshop: March 23rd to 25th, 2012
The Frozen Beauty of Lake Superior: Join me for a trip up to Lake Superior. On the way up, we will detour to Jay Cooke State Park to capture the power of the St. Louis River, stop at Brighton Beach, Two Harbors and depending on the clouds, capture the sunset along the shore of Lake Superior. The next morning we will catch the sunrise at Split Rock State Park or Gooseberry State Park or at Tettegouche State Park. Multitude of images will manifest themselves as we hike and explore the parks. You will be so pumped up that you may forget to have lunch.
As most Minnesotans know, warm clothing are a must. It is best to wear layers to keep warm and not overheat in case the temperature rises. Crampons are also a must to walk on ice covered rocks. You can find them at your local outdoor gear stores.
Catching a sunset will be one of the last thing we shoot for the day unless the Northern Lights put on a show. A critique of the images by all the participants to help improve the images and future images. A late dinner and a slide show of the favorite images will culminate the day. On the way back home, we will stop in Duluth's Canal Park and Park Point to finish off the weekend.
